In case of O-brachial deformity of the lower leg of the first and second degree, endoprosthetics of the lower leg can be performed to eliminate the curvature of the legs. In more severe degrees of this deformity, so-called osteotomies (medical bone fractures) of the lower leg are performed and the "Ilizarov apparatus" is applied to form a straight tibia. In cases of minor deformity of the tibia, lipofilling can be used.

In case of asymmetry of the lower leg, a single endoprosthesis is sometimes used. This product is similar to breast implants, but its shape resembles an elongated oval and its shell is smooth. There are different sizes and shapes of tibia implants, depending on the patient's height and anatomical features. Modern tibia implants do not require replacement throughout life and have a lifetime warranty.

Popular queries

Will the implants be clearly contoured under the skin? Will they be noticeable to the touch?

With a properly selected implant size and a precisely formed cavity under the deep fascia of the lower leg, it will be impossible to visually determine that the shape of the lower leg is artificial. Only a specialist can determine the presence of the implant by touch.

Some discomfort will be present for 3-4 weeks until the swelling goes down. Then, the soft tissues will adapt to the new shape of the lower leg and stretch in accordance with the size and shape of the implant. All unpleasant moments associated with the presence of the implant under the fascia will disappear.
